Practice one or two specific skills
Focused practice of only 1-2 skills at a time is more effective than vague practice of many skills.
He avoids offering the kind of vague abstractions you hear in most learning settings. Little improvement comes from chanting “Be the change you want to see” or “Give 110 percent!” What people need to build ability is not vacuous philosophy but specific skills.[1]
